As the cool, dry climate forms in, we’re all in need of some winter tips for lips that keep chapped and flaky skin at bay. I am dependent to a good lip cream and always carry it. If you battle with maintaining your lips hydrated, then here are some winter guidelines for lips that you need to check out.
1. Don’t Overdo It on Lip Balm
Wearing in too much lip cream, Chap stick and lip shine can actually dry your lips out! This is because your lips normally generate wetness to keep them soft so when you’re regularly moisturizing them, the need for your human body to normally generate the sebum it needs goes away. So keep in mind, less is more which is one of the most essential winter guidelines for lips that are dry!
The cold months of winter can keep your lips flaky and chapped. This isn’t relaxed, eye-catching or favorable for good lip stick application! Exfoliation 1-2 times a week is very valuable in getting rid of scalp and exposing sleek, fat lips. You can purchase lip scrubs and moisturizers, but I’ve found a couple methods that work just as well and are almost free! Take a warm, wet clean fabric and carefully rub your lips in light, round movements. Then apply a dense cream like vitamin E oil or grape oil to renew moisture. You can also use a smooth tooth brush with warm water in the same way.
3. Use Lip Masks
Lip masks work to get rid of dry scalp while greatly fixing and moisturizing your lips. There are plenty of home made lip masks that are healthy and smell amazing. Shea butter, extra virgin olive oil and vanilla combined best, 20 minute mask!
4. Select Lipsticks Wisely
I really like the look of lipstick and how they add meaning to your everyday cosmetics. I’ve discovered however that some lipsticks can be incredibly dehydrating, especially lip stains. It’s best to stick with moisturizing lipsticks or manufacturers that you know and believe by instead of purchasing something new. That way you won’t spend your cash or be disappointed!
5. Don’t Lick Your Lips
This may sound kind of funny but it’s true. Constantly licking your mouth because they are dry can actually make them more dry because saliva will wipe out them of moisture. It’s the same idea as cleaning your arms too often or not moisturizing after a bath/shower. Water draws moisture from the skin as it evaporates, so don’t lick your lips!
6. Use Vitamin E Oil
Vitamin E functions as an anti-oxidant and may actually fix cell damage. That’s why so many anti-aging cosmetics contain Vitamin E – that and it’s used to protect your lips from sun damage. This wealthy oil provides many purposes for defending and dealing with your dry lips.
7. Use a Protectant Lip Balm
As described above, use Vitamin E as an anti-oxidant and for protection reasons. You should also use a lip cream that has at least SPF 15 lip from sun while they are just as sensitive to UV radiation if not more so, than our skin!
